McArthur Glen Designer Outlets
Feb 2006 McArthurglen announces search for sites in spain

McArthurGlen UK Ltd., Europe's leading designer outlet developer, owner and operator today announced it has commenced a search for suitable retail development sites in Spain.

"We believe there are additional opportunities in Spain for our style of designer outlet centre; that's certainly what our brands are telling us and we have started to look at potential sites," said Gary Bond, Head of Development for McArthurGlen.

McArthurGlen will be partnering with Milligan Denton Developments on any future development in Spain.

Milligan Denton already operates in Spain, having successfully repositioned the Maremagnum retail centre in Barcelona. "We have worked with John Milligan for many years when he was a consultant to McArthurGlen and I am delighted that we will now be partnering with him," said JW Kaempfer, Chairman of McArthurGlen.

Fraser Denton of Milligan Denton said: "We have already identified the areas we want to be in and are now in the process of a detailed site search."

McArthurGlen continues to expand elsewhere in Europe; the company's 14th Outlet, its third in Italy, will open at Barberino di Mugello near Florence in March.

The company currently has 13 villages across the UK, France, Austria the Netherlands and Italy, featuring 650 top brands in over 1300 stores and 300,000 sq metres of gross lettable area. The centres draw over 50 million visitors each year.

Milligan, a retail development and asset management specialist, was set up by former Jones Lang LaSalle international director, John Milligan, in March 2002. Every place it creates is a one-off. Each is inspired, designed and created by focusing on the wants and desires of the people who will visit, use and enjoy the space. By concentrating exclusively on the consumer, Milligan achieves the sales that retailers crave and the returns that investors want.

Milligan is backed by J.W. Kaempfer and Richardson Developments.

Denton Developments is a Spanish company based in Barcelona and established by Fraser Denton, a former Development Director from Lend Lease, recently responsible for the award winning Tres Aguas project in Madrid.
