James Beers joined McArthurGlen UK Limited as Co-Chairman in 2003.
Mr Beers has been a financial advisor and confidante to Mr J. W. Kaempfer for over thirty years. As Co-Chairman of McArthurGlen Mr Beers has spearheaded negotiations with Henderson Global Investors to put five of the continental centres McArthurGlen developed into a new sole purpose pan-European Retail Fund.
Mr Beers and Mr Kaempfer are responsible for securing and obtaining institutional and private financing for future development opportunities.
Mr Beers is co-founder and former Managing Partner of Beers & Cutler. For over twenty years he has worked with real estate companies of all sizes in Washington metropolitan area, advising them on taxes, developing their businesses, increasing profits and planning for the future.
As an expert in the field of real estate Mr Beers has structured major tax efficient transactions including sales of individual properties and major portfolios to Real Estate Investments Trusts (REITs). He has been a frequent speaker on REITs and has made presentations to the National Automobile Dealers Association, J D Powers & Associates Dealer Roundtable and other associations.
Mr Beers is a member of Transcom Worldwide S.A and Federal City Council, Washington and has held board positions at DC National Bank, Washington, McArthurGlen Realty, Virginia and District of Columbia Institute of CPAs, Washington.
