Julia Calabrese - Chief Executive Officer

As Chief Executive Officer of McArthurGlen UK Limited, Julia  is responsible for directing and overseeing the company's current activities at 15 designer outlet centres across 6 European countries, with a further 6 locations in advanced stages of development. She is also a member of McArthurGlen's Board of Directors.

Julia joined McArthurGlen in 1998, a year in which the company experienced its most dramatic period of growth to date, with a remarkable 5 new openings in a seven-month period. Serving as Chief Operating Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of BAA McArthurGlen UK Limited, Julia took on a primary role in effecting the transition of the company from an entrepreneurial enterprise to an established commercial real estate development and management firm. Upon completion of the 2002 buyout by McArthurGlen of its former joint venture partner, BAA plc, Julia succeeded to the role of Chief Executive Officer of the company.

Julia's career background includes extensive experience in real estate management and development. Before moving to London in 1998, Julia was a Senior Managing Director of Cushman & Wakefield, a global real estate services company headquartered in New York City.

She originally joined the firm as a Managing Director in 1995 to run its commercial real estate management portfolio for the Eastern United States (then encompassing 55 million square feet), and rapidly progressed to become Senior Managing Director and Operations Manager for all of the firm's commercial real estate service lines for the mid-Atlantic region of the United States.

Prior to moving to Cushman & Wakefield, Julia served for three years as President of Barnes, Morris, Pardoe & Foster Management Services LP, a Washington, DC-based commercial real estate firm, whose corporate predecessor, Kaempfer Management Services Inc, Julia had originally co-founded nine years earlier in 1983, serving as its President from inception. During the latter period, she also served as a Senior Vice-President of the Kaempfer Company, a Washington, DC commercial real estate developer.

Prior to moving to the Kaempfer Company, Julia served for five years as a Vice-President of Savage/Fogarty Companies, a Virginia-based commercial and residential real estate development and management group that she joined in 1978.
