In response to leather basketball sneakers becoming the norm in the early 1970’s, Converse created a leather All Star with a star logo.
The logo was borrowed from the Chuck patch as a way to introduce a new sneaker with a recognizable symbol.
Various renditions of the sneaker were introduced throughout the 70’s including suede and leather versions in both low and high tops.
The sneaker stayed in the product line until 1979. In 1993, a suede leather option was reintroduced as the One Star.
Immediately following its release, the One Star was marketed as a skate shoe.
Since then, the One Star has transitioned from a skate sneaker to a lifestyle icon. The One Star quickly became a sneaker that became a lifestyle sneaker.
The Converse One Star counts as one of the classic basketball shoes turned skate model turned all-around fashion statement.
First released in the early 70s and re-released in the 90s and 2000’s.
it is now time for a return of the famed silhouette. The spring-ready premium red silhouette comes with the signature suede upper with a white star and midsole that incorporates an Orth Olite insole for better cushioning and comfort to jump right into spring.
