But gone are the days of the office pencil skirt being the only tailoring appearing in our wardrobe. Tailoring now has a fun side. The latest way to wear it? Boldly coloured! Whether that’s bright fluorescents or pastel shades, work an oversized suit to your next social occasion or opt for a versatile tailored jacket over jeans or a mini skirt. If the all-over colour is a little too much for your liking, grab a pop-coloured accessory to lift tailoring in darker shades. So sharp.

THE MICRO BAG
the micro trend really lives up to its name.
Size matters when it comes to bags at the moment and, actually, the smaller the better. The micro bag isn’t going anywhere. True, they’re not that great for fitting a big phone in there (and you may need a larger handbag elsewhere on your person) but the super-cute accessory can pull a look together, hooked on a belt or proudly displayed in front of you. Wear it well with our tailoring trend as above. To get the most out of tiny bags, choose pop-colours to stand out against all-black ensembles or clash with a different coloured look. While a tonal strap or chain adds practicality, most street style stars are carrying theirs with the top handle for max impact. Now, where’s that lipstick?

We love a micro-trend we already have in our wardrobe – hello more sustainable – and one of the looks we’ve spotted in Paris and beyond is playful clashing prints. And you really don’t need to worry about the prints in question because the key is in the word clash. From houndstooth finishes to floral designs, check prints to graphics, logo play to pinstripe looks, we bet there’s a stellar collection of patterns in your wardrobe already. Complement them with more standout colour or monochrome pieces from your Paris-Giverny store for a high-fashion statement. Our top tip? Choose muted shoes and accessories to draw focus to the maximalist outfit.

There are so many outerwear choices out there that choosing the coat or jacket for you can sometimes be a little overwhelming. Especially when you want to invest in a number you’ll turn to for years to come. So what micro-trend do designer coats have in common? High-shine finishes. Yes, matte is out (for now) and Parisian gloss is in, and the reflective finish really adds a glamorous dimension to looks for night and day. As well as being transitional and weatherproof. Especially during the colder months, the coat becomes your whole outfit, so opt for patent black, glossy red or perhaps a shiny brown for your next investment purchase.
