the trend guide: menswear edit

what to wear and what to buy, all for up to 70% less

Spring is finally on the horizon, and with that in mind it’s time to welcome a dose of freshness into your wardrobe. Our SS19 trend guide has all the inspiration for what you should be wearing for the season ahead – and what to buy now, for up to 70% less.

Function is making a statement for spring, with utility-inspired details, pared-back colour palettes and silhouettes seen across outerwear to accessories. The oversized pocket is a mini trend in itself, creating a practical yet bold design feature across parachute-style parka jackets, technical jackets, body warmers and even cargo pants. Look to Camel Active and Funky Buddha for fluid silhouettes and lightweight fabrics with a sportier feel that can be effortlessly layered – and peeled off – come summer.

Lending a softer edge to tailoring, runways were awash with suits in soft sherbet shades of violet, sky blue and rose-petal pink juxtaposed with neutral stone tones. Silhouettes were kept fluid and deconstructed, with wide leg trousers and double-breasted jackets layered over relaxed fit t-shirts. Evoking a subtle sense of minimalism, team the look with a classic white trainer from Kalogirou, or for a bolder statement as seen at Dior, a fashion sneaker that matches the hue of your suit.

The silk shirt has returned, but not as we know it. Darker, more intense base tones of black and indigo allow for vibrant patterns to pop, from intricate floral prints to kaleidoscopic beach scenes. The fluidity of silky fabrics lends lightness that echoes spring’s new mood, translated through loose silhouettes. Pair silk shirts from Salvatore Ferragamo and Guess with co-ordinating shorts for a full take on the trend or team with neutral trousers to allow the shirt to do all the talking.
