FICO, THE ITALIAN FOOD THEME PARK: FOOD AND FUN IN BOLOGNA
FICO has been redesigned to focus on the guest experience, with great attention to children and families.
20 attractions have been created, including multimedia pavilions, carousels, slides and interactive panels, 7 themed areas dedicated to cured meats and cheeses, pasta, games and entertainment, wine, olive oil and sweets, factories have been brought to life with projections and multimedia shows, there is an animal farm at the entrance, and free tours for those who want to fully enjoy the beauty of the Park.
Olfactory experiences and scientific pavilions are the protagonists in the multimedia rides dedicated to earth, fire, sea, animals and bottles, while the large green spaces of the Park (including the vineyard, olive grove and orchard) during the summer allow you to combine taste and fun to the pleasure of relaxing under the trees and surrounded by nature.
Food is the absolute protagonist: in the 26 restaurants and street food (based on pasta, meat, pizza, fish, cold cuts, mortadella, cheese, potatoes, and truffles) you can explore the best of food and wine specialties from all over Italy, from Prosciutto San Daniele to Abruzzo's arrosticini, from Romagna's piadina to Sicilian haute patisserie, passing through Sulmona's sugared almonds and more than 100 types of wine.
Children who spend a day at FICO can cross a 6-metre-high cheese wheel, ride a Sicilian cannoli, feed cows on the farm, take a selfie in front of the world's largest fig tree, knead pizza dough or ride a carousel, navigate the Italian seas without leaving land, measure one's height in pigs and chickens instead of meters and centimeters and discover the magic of the bubble house.
All this while the adults delight their palates, discover special flavors with tasting tours and learn how to roll out dough to prepare homemade tortellini.
Everything that is produced at FICO can be purchased by walking through the Park, at the factory shops (with the carts or practical and fun FICO bikes equipped with a basket, to be collected free of charge at the welcome desk at the main entrance), or at the end path, in the large Eataly bazaar, with an assortment of 2,000 square meters that guarantees quality food and wine shopping.
And for traveling light, there is a post office inside the Park, visitors can find a post office to send purchases directly to their homes, in Italy and all over the world.
