The £90 million expansion of our centre is well underway.

Opening in Autumn 2019, the centre expansion will see us add 50 luxury and premium brands, a new food piazza, 725 parking spaces as well as a new events space and redesigned children’s play area. Stay tuned here for updates.

In Autumn 2019, our much anticipated 100,000 sq ft. expansion will officially open its doors to local Ashford residents, visitors from London and European and international tourists. Once the £90 million extension is complete, Ashford Designer Outlet will become one of the UK’s flagship fashion, food and homeware destinations, with over 130 stores, restaurants and cafes. Some of the highlights of our centre expansion include:

50 New Luxury and Premium Brands

50 leading names in fashion, food and homeware are set to launch in our centre bringing the total number of brands to over 130. While it’s too early to reveal who will be joining us, in the past three years alone we’ve introduced highly sought-after names including All Saints, Calvin Klein, Cath Kidston, Hugo Boss and Abercrombie & Fitch, and our 50 new stores and restaurants will be equally exciting.

Delicious Dining Options in our New Food Piazza

A brand new Food Piazza to tantalise all tastebuds, bursting with delectable dining options from eat-in restaurants, to cafes and street food selections. Guests are still able to enjoy an extensive food and beverage offering while the construction of the Food Piazza takes place, with the likes of Pizza Express, Wagamama, Patisserie Valerie, Lost Sheep Coffee and a variety of food and drink pop ups available throughout the centre.

Fun, Family Friendly Spaces

The expansion will bring a newly designed events space with an action packed programme suitable for the whole family, as well as a bigger and better children’s play zone. To keep our littlest visitors entertained until our new play zone arrives in Autumn 2019, we’ve set up a temporary play area opposite Pizza Express.

Europe’s Largest Living Wall

Europe’s largest living wall will be installed in the centre during our expansion. A must-see attraction, the structure and many of the new stores will be clad in tens of thousands of plants, all stacked vertically.

Even More Parking

725 car parking spaces will be added to the centre, improving the guest experience. The first phase of the new car park will open this summer, introducing 400 parking spaces, with the remaining 325 spaces opening in November.

Supporting our Local Community

Following the expansion, 500 jobs will be created at the centre for Ashford’s local community. As well as this, we will introduce a complimentary shuttle bus linking the Ashford Designer Outlet, the town centre and the international train station at peak weekends and during the school holidays, while also providing funds for the enhancement of pedestrian and cycle routes from the station. The expansion is one of eight major projects highlighted by Ashford Borough Council and Kent County Council as key employment and economic drivers in the development of the town.

Looking to the Future

We first announced plans to expand the centre in 2014 and secured planning approval from Ashford Borough Council in September 2015. During that time the centre’s popularity has continued to soar and we now welcome over 3.6 million guests every year to take advantage of year-round savings of up to 60 per cent. We are working hard to ensure our visitor experience remains memorable and enjoyable during this construction period and look forward to welcoming guests to the expanded centre in 2019.
