Planned Improvement Works

From 16th April - November 2018

Newtown Road junction with Romney Marsh Road [A2042] has now re-opened and the HS1 car park is fully accessible for all customers via Ave Jacques Faucheux [A2402].

These improvement works formed part of the £90 million expansion of Ashford Designer Outlet - one of Ashford Borough Council’s Big 8 projects, which aims to drive long term economic growth for the area.

The expansion will create 500 new jobs for the local area, and will add 50 new premium retail brands and restaurants to the centre. The improvements to local roads and pedestrian walkways surrounding the centre are part of a long-term project to make roads safer and improve traffic flows.

The infrastructure improvements include the introduction of a signalised junction and a pedestrian crossing, which will make it easier for people to move between the International Station, the town centre and Ashford Designer Outlet.

The expansion of Ashford Designer Outlet and infrastructure improvements were granted planning permission by Ashford Borough Council in 2015.
