2022 Charity of the year

The Aspinall Foundation

We are proud to support The Aspinall Foundation our 2022 charity of the year.

The Aspinall Foundation are a world-class animal conservation charity, dedicated to protecting endangered animals around the globe. We were founded in 1984.

We are best-known for groundbreaking captive breeding and reintroduction projects with species including gorillas, cheetahs and black rhino. Our teams in the UK and around the world have returned more than 200 captive-born animals to protected areas of their their natural habitats to date.

We have also rescued, rehabilitated and released hundreds more animals in-situ. We manage vital conservation projects in South Africa, Madagascar, Indonesia, Congo and Gabon. We are also proud to protect a 1,000,000-acre area of gorilla habitat on the Batéké Plateau.

We partner with two award-winning wild animal parks, Howletts near Canterbury and Port Lympne, near Ashford. Our partner parks are very different from conventional zoos; they are designed to be breeding sanctuaries for some of the world’s most rare and endangered animals. We are proud of our Howletts & Port Lympne's successes, as they lead the way in animal care, enclosure design, enrichment and breeding.

WE ARE EXPERTS IN REWILDING AND THE REINTRODUCTION OF RARE AND ENDANGERED SPECIES TO AREAS OF PROTECTED WILDERNESS.
