Supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month

To continue our 25th Anniversary celebrations and our ongoing partnership with Tenovus Cancer Care, our centre teams are taking part in a series of 25 mile cycle challenges.
On the 19th and 20th October each team will compete to cycle 25 miles on our static bikes, located in the Food Court.
Tenovus Cancer Care Patrons and Rugby Union players, Rupert Moon and Dafydd James will be in attendance on the 19th giving some much-needed encouragement and maybe even cycling themselves!
To round off our week of activity, the Tenovus Cancer Care “Bridgend Sing With Us Choir” will be performing in the centre on the 21st October, joined by special guests.
If you're free why not come down and cheer the teams on, or if you can’t make it but would like to donate just visit the link below to help us raise vital funds for Tenovus Cancer Care.

Celebrating 25 years of JOY

Timeline of McArthurGlen Bridgend

Looking Back Over The Years

McArthurGlen Bridgend opened its doors in May 1998, and has seen lots of changes over the years.

When the centre first opened, we were joined by some of the brands you can still shop today including Calvin Klein, Vans and Levi's. The centre looked very different back then, especially our ever popular Food Court - Who remembers the giant hanging fruit?

Phase two which opened in 1999, saw the centre vastly increase in size and we welcomed brands such as Clarks, Claire's Accessories and Helly Hansen. In 2011 we extended our Food Court and added some exciting new restaurants and cafes.

In 2014, the centre underwent a huge refurbishment and developed into the modern centre you see today. We were also joined by Ernest Jones, Le Creuset and Beauty Outlet. 2015 saw the opening of our Dinosaur themed play area which children of all ages still love to visit!

We have launched a number of sustainable initiatives in recent years including our "Recycle Your Fashion" donation points, EV Charging points and Rainwater Harvesting to feed into our toilet facilities.

Looking back over the years, McArthurGlen Bridgend has not only been a joyous shopping destination, but a valuable part of the local community. We have partnered with many charities and organisations to raise awareness and valuable funds for them including Tenovus Cancer Care and Ty Hafan Children's Hospice.

We continue to attract new brands with a number of planned openings in the coming year to offer our guests even more choice for a great day out experience. Keep up to date with everything happening in the centre on our Facebook and Instagram channels.
