We have agreed a wide ranging £1.5 million package to support local projects
We have agreed a wide ranging £1.5 million package to support local projects, which forms part of our planning agreement with Cannock Chase District Council.
This investment programme will include the enhancement and ongoing maintenance of the Mill Green Nature Park, improvements to Cannock Town Centre, and the railway station, and support for developing skills and employment prospects for local people.
A large proportion of this investment includes a £900,000 contribution to the creation of a new footpath and cycle course serving as the route for new Heritage trail running through the adjoining Mill Green Nature Park. It will also include new park benches, lighting and signage.
With the development anticipated to create more than 1,000 jobs, the funding package will also include support for an Employment and Skills Plan as part of an overall commitment to work with the council to deliver training and pre-employment programmes.
