McArthurGlen vancouver attracts 160,000 over opening weekend

Thursday 9 July marked the eagerly anticipated opening of McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Vancouver Airport, the first designer outlet in Greater Vancouver.

The opening was hugely successful, attracting more than 160,000 shoppers over the weekend - a record for McArthurGlen.

Please visit the McArthurGlen image gallery, which captures the opening day’s festivities, including the presentation of SEI, a 12-metre long representation of a whale breaching out of the water by local visual artist Michael Nicoll Yahgulanaas.

The centre features some of the world’s most iconic brands, including Calvin Klein, Coach, Cole Haan, Hugo Boss, Polo Ralph Lauren, Ports 1961, Tommy Hilfiger, Nike and Tumi, with more great names to follow in the coming months – all offering savings of up to 70%, all year round.

McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Vancouver Airport is a joint venture between McArthurGlen, Europe’s leading owner, developer and manager of designer outlets, and Vancouver Airport Authority, a community-based, not-for-profit organization that operates Vancouver International Airport (YVR).

Also featured at the designer outlet are some Vancouver favourites, including lifestyle concept store SL and Italian-style coffee house Caffè Artigiano, with local social food marketplace Hawker’s Market opening a pop-up initiative, Hawkers Mercado, over the summer months.

The centre is easily accessible via public transport, with Canada Line's Templeton Station located across the street. Shoppers travelling from downtown Vancouver will be at the centre in just over 20 minutes, while those coming from the airport will arrive in three minutes. Travel between the airport and Templeton Station is free.
