And just like that, in a sweep of bold lipstick and a flash of red cashmere, LFW’s gone for another season. It’s left us with an urgent need to dress up (thanks to the likes of Preen and Molly Goddard), feeling colourfully inspired by House of Holland and, of course, eagerly awaiting the arrival of AW19s must-notable trends and as this season's street-style must haves.
To get the fashion-week lowdown, our Insider Lizzy Hadfield (@shotfromthestreet) took us backstage, amongst the teams of hair and makeup artist, (the clouds of hair spray), and the buzz and excitement of production crews, where we chatted with Jasper Conran, and gained exclusive interviews with Henry Holland, and Preen…
LFW Street Style
From pastels to leather boots, and lots of beautiful beige. The streets of London delivered an array of fabulous looks - that we can’t wait to invest in. Heaps of colour popping, timeless beige overcoats and perfectly pointed boots - alongside the occasional chunky trainer - were some of our favourite looks of the weekend. If there’s one thing to get excited about for AW19 it is the abundance of designers who celebrated the art of dressing up. We saw embellishment galore at Richard Quinn, powerful reds showcased at Victoria Beckham and Preen, and fabulously flamboyant dresses at the likes of Molly Goddard. Colours were bold with designers like Henry Holland mixing up jewel tones with primary hues, in oversized prints. Florals were also back, this time with an ode to historic patterns noted foremost at Emilia Wickstead, and also mirrored at Preen. As you’d expect, it wasn’t just the clothing taking the limelight; spotted on the FROW at Jasper Conran were Alex Forman and Kristen Scott Thomas, as well as Yasmin Le Bon at Preen, and Lily Allen and Nick Grimshaw at House of Holland with Pixie Geldof.
