BIG TAILORING

These Suits Are Big On Style

Not all that long ago, the suit was seen as merely office uniform, but today it has become a much more fluid garment. As we saw at the Dries Van Noten, Etudes, and Dolce & Gabbana SS24 shows, the suit has broken out of the office thanks to a loose and flowy silhouette. Oversized jackets, or tightly waisted jackets with structured shoulders, are par for the course this season, together with wide-leg trousers. Boxy single-breasted jackets are a great intro to the trend, while double-breasted styles offer a more sartorial option…either way you can shop the trend for up to 70% less at Barberino Designer Outlet with brands like BOSS, Fratelli Ragusa, Antony Morato and more.

TOMMY HILFIGER

LOOSE-FIT DENIM

Denim Has a Baggy Moment

Denim is one of those ever-present menswear fabrics that we all love to wear, but just how we wear it changes quite frequently. It wasn’t that long ago that skinny jeans and cropped trucker jackets were the norm, but as per the Valentino and Feng Chang Wong collections, denim has gone down a baggy route for summer ‘24. Roomy jackets and overshirts by the likes of Vans and HUGO offer an urban ruggedness, complemented with baggy straight-leg and wide-leg jeans by Levi's. From indigo dyes to distressed stonewashes, every colour of blue, black and dark grey is game.

CALVIN KLEIN

UTILITARIAN

Perfect Pockets of Spring Style

One of, if not the most popular trends on the runways this season was the re-emergence of the utilitarian aesthetic, highlighted by loose and lightweight silhouettes and garments spilling over with pockets (good luck finding your keys quickly). Futuristic visions of menswear from previous seasons have been toned down in favour of much more wearable earthy-tone field jackets and overshirts by the likes of Calvin Klein; lightweight bomber jackets by Tommy Hilfiger; and multi-pocket utility vests by Replay. Of course, no utilitarian look would be complete without the humble cargo pant, which has been reincarnated in a variety of technical fabrics as well as traditional cotton twill. Technical sneakers have usurped the combat boot for the summer months, while the tote bag takes a back seat as the technical rucksack takes centre stage. Secure the utility look with the help of McArthurGlen – always up to 70% less.
