Haribo was founded in 1920 by Hans Riegel. In 1922, he created the “Dancing Bear,” the predecessor of today’s famous “Goldbear.” The bear-shaped candy was an instant hit. Later came the “Golden Bear” with its signature red bow, which still appears on all packaging and merchandise. As more colorful gummy bears were introduced, Haribo grew from a small factory in Germany into a globally loved brand.
