SUNSHINE YELLOW

A Sunny Disposition

Just as the first rays of spring sun warm our souls, let the life-affirming power of yellow invigorate your wardrobe this season. The runways were basking in a glow of yellow tones, from feminine pale lemon to more vibrant amber shades, with full tonal looks bringing the most solar sophistication. Key among the silhouettes are tailored blazers and trousers by the likes of BOSS and Club Monaco at up to 70% less, offering a bright and powerful statement, or swap the trousers for a tonal yellow midi skirt by Guess. Ted Baker for feminine dresses, and breezy trousers, while pale yellow lightweight knits and shirts are their perfect dance partners. Go for bold yellow tones in the shape of sunglasses by Sunglass Hut, and bags from Kate Spade to serve your wardrobe sunny side up.

STATEMENT ACCESSORIES

Small Stature, Big Statement

Sometimes, all you need for a wardrobe refresh is an accessories upgrade, and this season’s offerings will not disappoint. From bold tone clutch bags to kaleidoscopic statement wedges via look-at-me sunglasses and chunky jewellery, there are a million and one ways to give your looks a glow-up at McArthurGlen Vancouver this season. We’re in love with the colourful clutches and leather handbags at the likes of Tory Burch and Michael Kors, all of which create a strong contrast to the white lace trend, and really complement the must-have midi skirt trend. Stand-out shoes in the shape of strappy sandals by Jimmy Choo, flats by Karl Lagerfeld, and sling-backs by Browns won’t fail to turn heads, while a final colourful flourish by way of a bold leather belt and oversized shades will ensure that you are the most talked-about guest at every summer party.

WHITE LACE

A Dose Of Delicate Femininity

White lace is having a big comeback this season thanks to a host of designers completely modernising how we think of it. The likes of Chloe, Valentino and Elie Saab have changed its image from an antiquated fabric to something altogether more contemporary and visionary, and we love the results! What’s more, it’s lightweight, elegant, and perfect for keeping you cool in the sun. Top-to-toe lace is the way forward, in the shape of an ornate dress by Ted Baker, or by combining lacy separates such as blouses and crop tops by Aritzia with midi and mini skirts by Maje – all at up to 70% less. You’ll look like a stunning vision in all white, especially if you double-down on white accessories such as strappy sandals or sling-backs, crochet bags, and sunglasses. For a sustainable approach, you could even incorporate vintage lace pieces into your look.

STATEMENT SKIRTS

These Skirts Bring All The Fun

After many seasons of maxi and midi dresses stealing the limelight, 2024 looks like the year of the skirt, but not just any skirt. On the runways of Tom Ford, Proenza Schouler, and many others, it was the statement midi skirt that was making the headlines, and it came glittering, twinkling, and sparkling. Shop the trend for less, from shiny sequins and sparkly details by Michael Kors, to fringes and tassels by AllSaints, these skirts are not only eye-catching, but a breeze to style, too. Think barely-there sleeveless tops by Club Monaco, fine-knit crew neck sweater by Tommy Hilfiger! Sandro, and dressy satin shirts by Banana Republic - just keep your tops muted to allow the skirt the spotlight it deserves. Pointed sling-backs by Steve Madden are our favourite way to bookend this trend, while a statement clutch by Karl Lagerfeld is the cherry on the cake.
