Celebrate the dogs making a difference this World Dog Day! Join the PADS dogs at McArthurGlen Vancouver for this one-day event highlighting the life-changing work of assistance dogs.

About PADS
Pacific Assistance Dogs Society (PADS) breeds, raises, and trains fully certified assistance dogs.
Our service (mobility & PTSD) and hearing dogs provide life-changing independence to individuals with disabilities. Our accredited facility dogs work with professionals, such as teachers, RCMP officers and psychologists to help support healthy communities.
Meet Teenie
PADS Teenie is a two-year-old assistance-dog-in-training. Teenie is a yellow Labrador Retriever from the PADS A&W litter and is named after the iconic Teen Burger.
Teenie is training to become an Accredited Facility Dog (AFD). She will one day work with a professional in justice, education, or healthcare.
Teenie’s warm, happy personality makes her a great candidate for the AFD program. She loves meeting new people and is always eager to do her best.
Meet Smaug
PADS Smaug is a two-year-old assistance-dog-in-training. Smaug is a yellow Labrador Retriever from the PADS Dragons Litter and is named for the devious villain in The Hobbit.
While his namesake may be monstrous, this sweet boy is anything but! Smaug is training to become a mobility service dog. He will one day support an individual with physical tasks.
Smaug loves retrieving dropped items and bringing them to his handler as well as tugging open doors. When he gets super happy, Smaug will spin around and buck like a horse.
Meet Chet
PADS Chet is a two-year-old assistance-dog-in-training. Chet is a black Labrador Retriever from the PADS Jazz Legends litter and is named for ‘The Prince of Cool,’ Chet Baker.
Chet is currently training to become an Accredited Facility Dog, with the hope of one day working alongside a counsellor to support people through challenging moments. His natural way of making people feel comfortable makes him perfect for this job!
Whether it’s a quiet presence beside someone, a gentle nudge for a little extra encouragement, or simply resting his head on people's laps, he seems to know when someone could use a little companionship.
As Chet continues his training, he’s learning how to turn his natural love of people into a very special kind of work, helping create a safe, welcoming space where people can feel supported, heard and a little less alone.
