Haribo was founded in 1920 by Hans Riegel. In 1922 Hans Riegel designed the ‘Dance Bear’, the predecessor of the ‘Golden Bear’. The bear was a great success, and later followed the ‘Golden Bear’ with its red bow that can still be found on all packaging and merchandising. Later, gummy bears in all colours were added, and soon Haribo grew from a small factory in Germany to a globally known brand.
The key to Haribo’s success is the candy without dyes and preservatives. The colour of the candy is created with the help of fruit concentrate, the shine on the candies is created by a secret ingredient. Since 2003, the brand has been repeatedly voted the most trustworthy confectionery brand. Haribo places the highest demands on the quality of its candy, so that you can enjoy it as a consumer!
