We’ve decoded this season’s key trends to show you exactly what to look for at [DESIGNER OUTLET] and how to style it with confidence and individuality.

With summer fast approaching, it’s high time you started thinking about updating your wardrobe with those killer trend pieces that will have everyone craning their necks to catch a glimpse of you. With so many collections to choose from at Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet, the options can sometimes be bewildering, but the team at Insider have distilled this season’s trends down to the fashionable four we think will make the greatest stylistic impact on your wardrobe, while also having the longevity to remain relevant long after the sun has set on the summer.

Forget what you know about the classic parka jacket because this season’s version rips up the rule book. Gone are the heavy cotton ripstop varieties of old and in are lightweight, technical styles worn oversized to emphasise this season’s voluminous silhouette. Head to Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet to find fine examples by Vans in particular. We especially love the versatility of the summer parka, not to mention the functionality. Pastel hues and nude tones were big on the runways, especially when worn with a matching tonal outfit, but if you’re really invested in the style, then we suggest going for the edgier black versions, which you can wear year-round.

One of the boldest trends of the season is a walk on the wild side: Outrageous tropical prints bursting with vibrant fauna and flora to more subdued and utilitarian khaki motifs, the botanical jungle has come to bloom in SS20. Leaf-laden shirts by The Kooples are a must-have for statement dressing and should be worn with neutral tones such as whites and light pastels for maximum impact. Look out for camp collar styles that you can slip on under a linen suit. If you’re more khaki than kaleidoscope, Jack Wills and Reiss have created some awesome pieces that will offer a more military-inspired reference. In fact, top-to-toe tonal khaki is a very slick stylistic move when finished off with this summer’s hero outerwear number, the technical parka.

Sailing into view this season is a maritime-inspired trend that leans on all of the classic naval motifs, but in particular blue and white stripes. The most obvious iteration of this comes in the form of the Breton t-shirt. At Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet you’ll find short and long-sleeved styles by Armani, that are very easily worked into navy tailoring for during the week or dressed down with white trousers and a blue overshirt for a more literal seafaring approach for the weekend. The beauty of the Breton is that the stripes add a touch of uniformity, which when worn with shorts helps to elevate the look, handy if you’re going from beach to bar.

Don Johnson’s peroxide tips might have stayed in the 80s but the boxy pastel tailoring he wore in Miami Vice has time-warped its way into this season’s must-have look. Cut loose and oversized for an elegant drape, Moss should be your first port of call. Whether double-breasted, single, or even one-and-a-half, go for light pastel hues that can be paired with similar colours. The blazer works brilliantly with oversized striped shirts worn louchely untucked, or you can use the pastel colours as a canvas to bounce a really bold pattern off. Speaking of which...
