Vancouver readies for opening

Work is progressing well on McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Vancouver Airport, with attention now turning to the architectural details of the facades, as the centre readies for opening.

McArthurGlen Vancouver Airport will be the very first designer outlet of its kind in North America, bringing the European designer outlet concept, with its signature design and vibrant style, to Vancouver. The fashion industry leader will also be recruiting around 600 retail positions for this first phase of development, and the centre will announce dates for a Careers Fair later this month.

As a growing, cosmopolitan city, Vancouver has become a world-class shopping destination, making it a natural destination for designer outlet shopping. The centre will have around 80 stores and over 240,000 sq ft (22,300 m²) of retail space. It will offer both local and visiting shoppers some of the most sought-after international and North American names in luxury, premium and lifestyle fashion, with year-round savings of up to 70%.

An open-air village style

In keeping with the European style and approach to designer outlet shopping, McArthurGlen Vancouver Airport is designed in an open-air village style, with pedestrian-friendly walkways, tree-lined streets, gentle landscaping, a dancing fountain, a luxury piazza and a variety of façades.

Created as a ‘day out’ destination, the centre’s restaurants and cafes, and year-round programme of activities, will complete the leisure experience, while a children’s playground will cater to families.

McArthurGlen Vancouver Airport is easily accessible via the Canada Line’s Templeton Station; just 3 minutes from the airport and 30 minutes from downtown Vancouver.

Bringing our luxury European shopping experience to Vancouver

“We’re very excited to bring our luxury European shopping experience to Vancouver”, says Robert Thurlow, recently appointed General Manager of McArthurGlen Vancouver Airport. “It’s a concept that has proven very popular in Europe and I know Vancouver will embrace it as well. We pay tremendous attention to every detail and our goal is to create the ultimate fashion and leisure destination in the Lower Mainland.”

McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Vancouver Airport is a joint venture between McArthurGlen, Europe’s leading owner, developer and manager of designer outlets, and Vancouver Airport Authority, a community-based, not-for-profit organization that operates Vancouver International Airport.
