The Menswear Edit
AW24 Trend Guide
From elevated denim and dynamic checks to a modern take on preppiness, this season’s menswear trends are bold, timeless, and easy to style!
SPORTS PREPPY
Collegiate Cool
One of the biggest menswear trends to have emerged in recent years is the modern preppy look, embraced by ultra-cool brands like Levi's that blend sporty streetwear with classic tailoring elements, all with a nod to 60s collegiate style. In short, we love it. Think iconic Lacoste sweaters and The Kooples sneakers, all combined in a sporty way. Layering is essential for this look, and don’t be afraid to play with patterns – a striped rugby top under a vest, complemented by glossy track pants and sneakers, is a winning formula.
DRESSED-UP DENIM
Denim Smartens Up
Even a menswear genre as timeless as denim cycles through trends, and while only last year the runways were embracing oversized shapes and distressed looks, it appears that denim has graduated into a more mature and smarter style category if the shows of Prada, Louis Vuitton and Prada are anything to go by. The ubiquitous denim shirt is less of a ‘western’ style this season, with dressier cutaway collar options by Tommy Hilfiger and American Vintage. Jeans have also taken a more elevated turn, with extremely slim-fit styles in lightweight denim produced by Aigle. These jeans pair perfectly with textured layers, such as a Fursac jacket or a tailored corduroy jacket, complemented by sleek Chelsea boots from Sandro.
GREAT OUTDOORS
Functionality Gets An Upgrade
Combining an earthy autumnal colour palette with a diverse variety of textural fabrics, one of our favourite trends of the season saw functional outdoor dressing get a major style upgrade. From classic wax jackets by by Tommy Hilfiger to quilted puffers by Sandro, and multi-pocket technical utility jackets by Lacoste, these outdoor essentials have been elevated with layered looks on the runways, creating a rich array of textural elements that add depth and character to this trend. Utility staples such as cargo pants, brushed-cotton button-down shirts, and hiking boots are the backbone of this trend, while the chunky rollneck sweater—beautifully crafted by Aigle this season—reinforces the tactile sophistication of our new favorite trend.
